With its brand new GPS enabled smartphone call Nexus One (Read Nexus One Review) Google is trying to gain market share of GPS enabled smartphones.

There are two different scenarios that can happen with Nexus One in our view.

• Nexus One becomes another Zune. In other word it will be mediocre product and will gain only moderate market share just like Zune did competing against iPod
• Nexus One becomes just like iPhone for a different cell network provider. If Google is able to secure an agreement with Verizon or T-Mobile lets say and sell millions of Nexus One smartphones to Verizon customers then it will be somewhat at the same level of penetration as iPhone and we'll have price war between two devices
• Nexus One is unlocked and distributed free to public and its features are so reach that everyone start abandoning iPhones in favor of Nexus One and Nexus One becomes a leader in its space.
